The Challenge
Mounting a custom die-cut paper onset continuously across the cloth cover and spine presented a high risk of delamination and bubbling at the hinge grooves under repeated flexing.
Our Solution
Standardized the mounting sequence using undiluted original-formula adhesive applied prior to board casing. Implemented targeted mechanical pressing along hinge channels and spine joints to ensure permanent bonding without edge lifting.
The Challenge
Aligning PMS 639C blue screen-printed typography on the textured Milani cloth with printed text on the mounted paper onset—specifically along the narrow spine axis—required micro-level positioning.
Our Solution
Utilized HUV printing with reverse-side alignment marks (K20 positioning lines) on the onset. Machine operators performed camera-aligned screen placement to guarantee seamless horizontal typography alignment between cloth and paper components.
The Challenge
Executing a unified debossing pass across two distinct materials (textured book cloth and laminated paper onset) requires balanced impression depth to avoid cutting through the paper or leaving faint impressions on the fabric.
Our Solution
Precision-engineered the die stamping plates and calibrated press pressure to account for substrate density variations. Achieved crisp, tactile debossed lettering without puncturing the laminated onset or distorting the cloth weave.
