The Challenge
Printing custom spot blue ink (PMS 661C) via UV process on a thin 0.175mm transparent PET jacket requires perfect opacity and registration to ensure the underlying hardcover art seamlessly aligns with the printed overlay without smudging or static cling.
Our Solution
Implemented dedicated UV printing passes with strict inline tension and static controls on the PET substrate. Precision color tracking against Pantone standards guaranteed flawless color saturation and crisp edge alignment with the printed cover underneath.
Challenge 2: Multi-Component Assembly and Structural Precision for Deluxe Cloth Slipcases
The Challenge
Constructing 3.0mm heavy-duty V-grooved slipcases wrapped in fine woven cotton cloth while integrating screen-printed Pantone yellow accents, recessed debossing, and die-cut image inserts demands micro-level structural accuracy.
Our Solution
Precision V-groove routing was applied to the 3.0mm greyboard to achieve sharp 90-degree corners. Custom die-cutting and calibrated hydraulic debossing ensured that the photo insert fit flawlessly into the recessed panel on the cloth casing with uniform margins.
Challenge 3: Zero-Defect Sequence Management for Hand-Numbered and Signed Collector Sheets
The Challenge
Integrating 2,000 individually numbered and author-signed tip-in sheets into specific distribution channels (Deluxe vs. Standard editions) leaves zero margin for loss, sequence scrambling, or misplacement during tipping and binding.
Our Solution
Established a tracked manual assembly station with double-verification checkpoints. Each signed sheet was centrally tipped on page 3 of the front endpaper, followed by strict serial-number batching to ensure exact matching between book numbers, slipcase labels, and final shipping cartons.
