23 printed works recognized across book printing, creative production, packaging, digital printing and specialty print applications
ARTRON has received 29 honors across 23 works at the 36th Hong Kong Print Awards, one of the most established competitions recognizing excellence in printing, publishing and graphic production in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
The 2025 results included two Champion awards, seven Gold Awards, ten Silver Awards, six Bronze Awards and four Merit Awards. The winning projects span fine art publishing, photography books, cultural publications, luxury editions, creative products and technically demanding print applications.
Among the most highly recognized projects was The Chinese Handmade Paper Library: Sichuan Volume, which received the Grand Award, the Best Book Printing Award, and a Gold Award in Book Printing: Case Bound Book. The publication combines documentary research on traditional Chinese papermaking with physical paper samples, complex material choices and refined book construction.
Several internationally recognized publishing projects also received awards.
Basketball: The Impossible Collection, published by Assouline, received a Gold Award in Packaging Printing: Complex / Other Materials Packaging. Its presentation combines a basketball-inspired tactile case with a collectible book format, turning the publication into an object designed as much for display and interaction as for reading.
Phaidon’s Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good: Nike Apparel received a Gold Award in Promotional Printing: Others. The publication explores the visual history of women's sportswear through Nike's archives and combines exposed-spine construction, carefully controlled printing and material choices designed to support both visual impact and usability.
Audubon's Birds of America, published by Abbeville Press, received a Gold Award for Special Development and Application of Printing. The production required careful color reproduction, finishing and structural engineering to support a substantial 696-page book block while preserving both durability and the character of the original illustrations.
Other award-winning projects included Carlos Santana, AGI France, Beyond Latitude, the OPPO 2024 Imaging Collection, Wallpaper China, photography publications, cultural heritage titles and experimental book objects. Together, they demonstrate the breadth of approaches required in contemporary premium publishing—from precision color management and digital printing to unconventional binding, specialty materials, embossing, foil stamping and hand-finishing.
For ARTRON, the recognition reflects more than production quality alone.
Many of these projects required close collaboration between publishers, designers, artists and production teams to translate a creative concept into a manufacturable physical object. Materials had to be tested, structures refined and finishing processes adapted to the specific requirements of each publication.
This is particularly important in art and photography publishing, where printing is not simply the final reproduction stage. Paper, color, binding, surface treatment and construction all influence how the reader experiences the work.
The awarded projects demonstrate ARTRON's continuing focus on combining precision manufacturing with craftsmanship and creative problem-solving—helping publishers and creative teams transform ambitious ideas into finished books and printed objects.
Since first participating in the Hong Kong Print Awards in 2000, ARTRON has accumulated 294 awards, according to the company's published results.
As publishing continues to evolve, ARTRON will continue working with publishers, museums, artists, photographers and brands worldwide to explore what is possible when printing, materials and bookmaking become part of the creative process.
