PRODUCTION NOTES
The Challenge
The product utilizes a heavy, smooth 300gsm white cardstock. Printing on smooth, thick substrates carries a high risk of ink set-off and physical scuffing during guillotine trimming and stacking. Additionally, the client required a premium matte tactile finish while maintaining strict color fidelity matching the digital proofs.
Our Solution
Inline Water-Based Matte Varnish: Instead of traditional film lamination, we utilized an eco-friendly "Offset Printing + Full-Coverage Inline Water-Based Matte Varnish" process. The varnish cures instantly at the end of the press, sealing the ink to prevent color shifting. It creates a robust, scratch-resistant barrier on the smooth cardstock while delivering a sophisticated, uniform matte texture.
The Challenge
The instructions mandated that the cards be shrink-wrapped in exact bundles of 100. Post-wrapping, a specific barcode sticker had to be applied. The client issued a strict visual uniformity directive: "Must be affixed to the bottom right corner of the back, and the position must be absolutely uniform." In a manual assembly line, applying stickers to hundreds of shrink-wrapped packs often results in crooked or misaligned labels, degrading the retail presentation.
Our Solution
Custom Physical Alignment Jigs: We introduced "barcode positioning jigs" equipped with right-angle backstops on the manual packing line. Operators simply slid the shrink-wrapped bundle into the corner guide and applied the 90gsm non-removable glossy sticker blindly. This ensured millimeter-level consistency for the bottom-right placement across every single retail pack.
The Challenge
The project operated under a strict "hold-for-approval" protocol. We had to submit 8 single cards and 100 fully packaged samples for client review, completely pausing mass production. After the client finally approved the samples on October 10th, they urgently requested the entire mass production be finished by October 17th to consolidate ocean freight with a companion "Coffee Table Book." The production window was severely compressed to just 7 days.
Pre-Scheduling & Agile Response: During the waiting period, we proactively procured and prepped all logistics materials, including the custom heavy-duty K=K corrugated cartons, inner divider pads, and US-standard pallets.
