Artron transformed the "impossible" concept of the Viktor & Rolf: Cover Cover art book into a tangible luxury masterpiece. Collaborating with Viktor & Rolf and designer Irma Boom for Phaidon Press, the project's main challenge was creating a unique folding cover using six different paper grammages (105-300 gsm) while maintaining consistency.
Artron's expertise was evident through six rounds of rigorous folding tests and engineering a durable, aesthetically pleasing binding inspired by ancient Chinese methods, perfectly customized for the book's substantial size. The two-year, purely handmade production of over 3,000 copies highlights their dedication.
This award-winning book, a testament to Artron's "art printing" philosophy, not only thrilled clients but also became an industry benchmark. Artron excels at bringing challenging, unconventional book designs to life, truly elevating printed matter to art.
