PRODUCTION NOTES
The Challenge
The publication features a full-bleed jet-black dust jacket printed on 157g coated stock across a large volume run. Processing dense black ink through high-speed mechanical folding, fluting, and casing-in introduces an exceptionally high risk of visible friction scuffing, edge flaking, and skin oil fingerprint contamination.
Our Solution
Apply double-sided anti-scratch matte film lamination to reinforce surface durability and block moisture penetration. Enforce mandatory lint-free gloved handling protocols across all post-press assembly, inspection, and shrink-wrapping stations to guarantee pristine jacket presentation.
The Challenge
Stamping DR710 matte white foil combined with deep debossing onto textured cover board carries a significant risk of letter filling, ragged typographic edges, or incomplete foil adhesion on tiny publisher logos and fine back-cover text elements.
Our Solution
Produce dedicated folding and case proofing samples prior to mass production to fine-tune thermal stamping temperatures, pressure dwell times, and die clearance. Execute pre-flight plate adjustments to guarantee clean, sharp typographic definition without micro-burrs or clogging on small letters.
The Challenge
Reproducing rich monochrome portraiture with matching PMS 424C spot grey highlights across 144 pages requires heavy ink film thickness. Heavy ink volume creates severe risks of slow drying, ink set-off (smudging adjacent pages), and color density fluctuations between signatures.
Our Solution
Utilize advanced HUV/LED curing offset technology to instantly cure the ink film upon exposure. Maintain strict gray balance calibration using Fogra39 standards and real-time spectrophotometric tracking to preserve stable shadow depth and smooth mid-tone transitions across all press runs.
